Here are the Ranks of the City Cats that live in the abandoned two-leg building.
Leader: The Leader of the City cats has to be tough. It does not receive nine lives like a Clan leader and it makes decisions for the rest of the city cats. The leader can be easily undermined and there is not a ceremony when a cat becomes the leader. The leader does not have a deputy and when it dies, the rest of the cats choose a new leader by the most popular vote...or one can choose itself by force.
Rager: A rager is like a warrior. Ragers fight to protect the rest of the cats and normally accompany Hunters to the junkyard just in case. They are the cats that are heavily built.
Hunter: Hunters hunt for the rest of the cats. In return for hunting, they receive the protection of the ragers.
Learner: A learner is a young cat that is training to become a hunter or rager. They do not get a mentor, instead they have to accompany patrols to see how to hunt and fight. When they think they are good enough to become a rager or a hunter, they tell the leader who chooses a cat to evaluate them on a patrol. If the learner does well, it becomes a rager or a hunter.
Queens: The only way for a queen with kits to receive food is to help out with a hunter or rager patrol, or to have a cat that is a rager or hunter that cares enough for them to work extra hard in order to get more food for them. If a Queen has healthy, strong kits, she will receive a share of the prey since the kits would end up as hunters or ragers. The kits become learners when they are old enough to go out of the building alone.
Elders: The only way for an elder to get food is by having a cat that cares for it as a hunter or rager. They have to work extra hard to give the elder food. Cats become elders when they are too old or too badly injured to stay a hunter or a rager.
Queens and Elders can also get the leftovers of the food if there is any (if they don't have a cat that does extra work for them)
